In worship this Sunday, we will read about the covenant God made with Abram and Sarai in Genesis 17. God said, “I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God for you and to your offspring after you.”
I chose that scripture, because it is also the day of our Annual Meeting. In the United Church of Christ, we are not bound by creeds or stances on social issues. It is covenant promises that hold the congregation together. Covenant promises are made at baptism, confirmation, and during the reception of members. I hope you will make a point to join us for worship and for the meeting immediately following.
