The Oasis - April 26, 2023

There’s nothing quite like kids coming up for a children’s message to let a pastor know the church is moving in the right direction! On Easter, Pastor Eric and I made the decision to invite the kids forward for the “Message for All Ages,” since we had the feeling there would be a good number in attendance (and boy were we right!). Since then, we’ve been keeping our eye on the congregation to see if there are enough kids to call up without any of them feeling too shy, and so far there have been every week! We’ve been seeing old friends returning, and making new friends as new families come check out our church, and that’s so exciting. God is good!

It also means that our small-but-mighty team of Sunday School volunteers could really use some new teammates! We can’t wait to get our Sunday School classes back to pre-pandemic numbers, but in order to support our growing population of faithful young friends, we need a growing population of committed volunteers, too. So if you have ever worked with kids, we want to talk with you about how God might be calling you to have our youth ministry’s back! Whether it’s as a teacher, a trainer, or simply helping to keep the peace at Sunday School or Youth Group, we know many hands make light (and fun!) work. So please reach out to me or anyone on the Christian Education Board to learn more!
