First Parish seeks to provide a growing array of life-changing experiences for children and youth of all ages. Growth, learning, self-discovery, faith-formation, team-building, and relational skills are among the priorities of our varied ministries. Whether in diapers or getting ready for college, First Parish provides safe, caring, and non-judgmental space for children and youth to thrive as they feel out their place in the world.
During Sunday worship, parents and guardians are welcome to make use of the infant and toddler nursery care we provide. The service itself includes a children's message and opportunities for kids to be involved in liturgy. Children Pre-K through 5th Grade are escorted to Sunday School following the children's message for an active and engaging curriculum that involves multiple learning styles and keeps everyone on their toes!
Confirmation Class is offered regularly as-needed (typically beginning in February) for youth seeking deeper perspectives on God and the church. Pastor Dan leads a series of fun and thought-provoking group discussions and activities to help youth discover for themselves the role God might have in their lives, and the role they might have in God's church.
Youth from 5th - 12th Grade are invited to take part in activities, special events, and field trips that engage a variety of learning and social styles. Games, team-building challenges, spiritual conversations, and unique experiences abound. Pastor Dan offers opportunities for 5th & 6th Grade, 7th & 8th Grade, and 9 - 12th Grade. Youth are not required to be otherwise affiliated with First Parish.
Every summer volunteer leaders from First Parish shepherd high school youth on a week-long service trip to help those in need. This long-running ministry of First Parish helps to serve people across the country, as well as provide rich experiences for the youth of our church and community.
Currently on summer break. Will resume in September.
